Our journey with dachshunds began with our youngest daughter, Savanna who feel in love with a dacshund that was always at the feet of his human's desk at the eye doctor.anyway, she wrote such a cute little note to us requesting a dachshund for her birthday or Christmas, I can't recall the occasion, but the note was so cute and heartfelt, I could not turn her down. I began searching for a reputable breeder. One of my high quality chicken sellers recommended a prestigious breeder down in North Florida, so I got in touch with him and few months later, we brought our beloved Andy home.

Before there was Kingpindoxies, there was Andy.

Andy wasn't part of a breeding progra. He was simply our dog—our companion, our friend, and, as it turned out, the little dachshund who would completely change the direction of our lives.

And it certainly didn't take us long to fall completely in love with the little booger. LOL!

Andy quickly became so much more than a dog. He became a beloved member of our family and, in many ways, my husband's little teddy bear. He had an extraordinary way of being there when he was needed most. During one of the most difficult periods our family experienced—the passing of my father-in-law—Andy became a source of comfort, companionship, and unexpected joy in the midst of tremendous grief and sorrow.

That little dog taught us something we would carry with us forever: never underestimate the comfort of a dachshund curled up beside you.

Andy taught us so much about the breed, but he also taught us about love, loyalty, companionship, and the incredible bond that can develop between a dachshund and his people. He was funny, devoted, intelligent, stubborn in that unmistakably dachshund way, and completely woven into the fabric of our family.

Losing Andy unexpectedly was incredibly difficult. But even that chapter of our story made one thing abundantly clear:

We couldn't imagine our lives without a dachshund in them.

So we began looking for dachshunds again.

That search brought Rusty, Penney, Bailey, and eventually Molly into our family. Molly held an especially tender place in our hearts because there was something about her that reminded us just a little bit of Andy.

At the time, we didn't realize where all of this was leading.

We simply knew that Andy had made us fall hopelessly in love with the breed.

From One Dachshund to a Dream

As our little dachshund family grew, so did our curiosity.

We wanted to know everything.

We began learning more about the dachshund's history, temperament, structure, colors, coats, genetics, bloodlines, and the characteristics that make this breed so wonderfully distinctive.

What began with loving one little dog gradually became something much bigger.

We wanted to understand not only what makes a dachshund beautiful, but what helps produce a dog capable of becoming the kind of companion Andy had been for us: healthy, confident, affectionate, intelligent, loyal, and deeply connected to its family.

That desire eventually became Kingpindoxies.

Andy was the catalyst.

He inspired a journey that would lead us deeper into the world of dachshunds and, eventually, into responsible breeding. As our knowledge grew, so did our commitment to carefully selecting dogs with consideration for health, genetics, temperament, conformation, pedigree, and the qualities we believe make dachshunds such exceptional companions.

Today, our program includes carefully selected miniature dachshunds from European and other thoughtfully chosen bloodlines. Every pairing represents research, planning, and a commitment to the future of the breed.

But behind the pedigrees, genetics, health testing, and carefully considered breeding decisions is something much simpler:

We never forget that we are ultimately raising someone's Andy.

Raising Family Companions

Every puppy born at our home begins life as part of our family.

Our puppies are raised in our home, surrounded by the everyday sights, sounds, routines, affection, and activity of family life. As they grow, we introduce age-appropriate enrichment, handling, socialization, crate training, problem-solving activities, and new experiences designed to encourage confidence and curiosity.

But some of the most important work we do involves simply spending time with them.

We watch.

We listen.

And we learn who they are.

Who approaches something new first? Who stands back and studies it before making a move? Who would rather curl up beside us? Who is constantly searching for the next adventure? Who is independent? Who wants to follow a person everywhere? Who seems happiest simply being close?

Those little differences matter.

Because we aren't simply placing puppies into homes.

We are introducing families to companions they may share the next 12, 15, or even more years of their lives with.

We know firsthand just how meaningful those years can become.

The Heart Behind Kingpindoxies

We have grown tremendously from where our journey began, but the heart behind it has never changed.

It can still be traced back to one little dachshund who showed our family what extraordinary companions these dogs can be.

Andy never knew that he was inspiring a breeding program.

He was simply being Andy—loyal, loving, funny, stubborn, devoted, and always there when his family needed him.

But because of him, we fell in love with this remarkable breed.

Because of him, we wanted dachshunds to remain part of our lives.

Because of him, we wanted to learn everything we could about them.

And eventually, we wanted other families to have the opportunity to experience the kind of love, loyalty, laughter, and companionship that Andy had given ours.

That little dog became the unexpected catalyst for something far bigger than we could have imagined when he first entered our lives.

Kingpindoxies.

And today, with every litter we raise and every puppy we place into the arms of a new family, a little piece of the lesson Andy taught us continues forward.

His greatest contribution to our story isn't how his story ended.

It's everything he started.

We watched the quad like hawks. They live with us in our home and sleep on our beds. They are not our dogs, but family members. We put their needs and well being before ours. Our doxies are purebred miniatures weighting 9-12 pounds, with AKC registration and CKC registration.

Dachshunds are like chickens. You can't own enough:-) The family is growing. Between 2020 and 2021, we invested in a few European imports. Ignatius, Gallileo, Qalataca, Yedidah, and Yevunye joined our family as puppies. Then Potap and Paloma on late 2024. Newhaus (Chip) is the newest addition to the family (early 2026 )We have raised them with all the love and care. They bring joy to our lives every day. Their beautiful puppies help pay their way and support our dachshund addiction. Lol!

Before You Welcome a Kingpindoxies Puppy

Bringing home one of our puppies is the beginning of a relationship that we hope will last for many years. We put an extraordinary amount of time, care, and love into every puppy born here, and we are equally thoughtful about the families who will eventually call them their own.

Before reserving a Kingpindoxies puppy, there are a few things we would like you to know.

Pickup & Transportation

We do not ship our puppies. We want every puppy's transition from our home to yours to be as safe and comfortable as possible.

Puppies may be picked up from us in Dade City, Florida 33523. For families traveling from farther away, we may also arrange to meet partway or personally deliver your puppy for an additional fee. Delivery is generally calculated at $0.70 per mile, round trip, from our residence, although arrangements may vary depending on distance and circumstances.

Visiting Your Puppy

Because our puppies are raised in our home and protecting their health, routine, and environment is extremely important to us, we do not offer general visits or appointments to meet available puppies before a reservation has been made.

Once you have reserved your puppy, however, you become part of the Kingpindoxies family. You are welcome to request an appointment to spend time with your puppy before go-home day. We also offer Zoom visits, which have become a convenient and popular option for many of our families.

In-person visits are generally scheduled on Saturdays, as both my husband and I work full-time during the week while also caring for our dogs, puppies, and farm.

Staying Connected While Your Puppy Grows

Waiting for go-home day shouldn't mean missing your puppy's childhood.

We love allowing our families to watch their puppies grow, which is why we share regular photos, videos, milestones, personality observations, and puppy updates throughout those important early weeks.

Families who join our private Facebook group, Kingpin Doxies, can follow along with these updates and get a little glimpse into their puppy's life with us before that long-awaited trip home.

Preparing Puppies for Home

Our responsibility doesn't end with producing a beautiful puppy. Those first weeks of life are an important opportunity to begin preparing each puppy for the much bigger world waiting beyond our home.

Before leaving Kingpindoxies, our puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, and are introduced to crate sleeping and foundational training. We also work on age-appropriate socialization, handling, enrichment, confidence-building experiences, and basic manners.

Every puppy leaves with a thoughtfully prepared go-home package containing important records and information, including pedigree documentation, applicable registration paperwork, vaccination and health records, lifetime microchip registration information, and other carefully selected goodies to help make the transition home a little easier.

Reserving & Paying for Your Puppy

A reservation deposit secures your chosen puppy and removes that puppy from availability.

The remaining balance must be paid in full by the agreed-upon go-home date. Depending on the circumstances of the reservation, accepted payment methods may include cash, Zelle, Venmo, or payment through Good Dog.

Complete reservation and payment terms will always be discussed with you before you commit to a puppy so that expectations are clear from the beginning.

More Than a Price Tag

We understand that price is an important consideration when choosing a puppy, and we are happy to be transparent about the cost of our puppies.

But we hope that price isn't the only question a prospective family has for us.

When someone contacts us, we want to know about the home waiting for our puppy just as much as you want to know about the puppy you may be welcoming into yours.

Ask us about temperament.

Ask about the parents.

Ask about health and genetic testing.

Ask about the pedigree, how our puppies are raised, what they eat, what experiences they have before leaving us, and why we selected a particular pairing.

Those conversations matter to us because there is an enormous difference between simply producing puppies and thoughtfully breeding dogs with the next generation in mind.

Why Pedigrees & Registration Matter

We occasionally hear, “I don't need papers. I'm only looking for a pet.”

We understand what families usually mean by that: they aren't interested in showing or breeding their dog. And that's perfectly okay. Many of our puppies are placed specifically as beloved family companions.

But registration and pedigree still matter.

A documented pedigree provides valuable information about a puppy's ancestry and allows breeders and owners to better understand the dogs behind that puppy. Combined with responsible health and genetic testing, pedigree research helps us make more informed breeding decisions and preserve important characteristics of the dachshund breed.

You may never show your dachshund.

You may never breed your dachshund.

You may never look at that pedigree again after bringing your puppy home.

But we need to care about it because responsible breeding begins generations before your puppy is born.

What Responsible Breeding Means to Us

Behind every Kingpindoxies puppy are countless hours that most families will never see.

There are pedigrees to research, health and genetic testing to consider, breeding decisions to make, pregnancies to monitor, puppies to deliver, weights to record, bedding to wash, meals to prepare, nails to trim, puppies to socialize, crates to clean, veterinary appointments to attend, and sometimes emergencies that completely change the day's plans.

There are missed holidays, interrupted nights of sleep, early mornings, late nights, and very little personal space when a dachshund decides your lap belongs to them.

And we wouldn't trade it.

Responsible breeding requires an investment of time, resources, education, emotion, and an enormous amount of ourselves. We don't stop caring about a puppy simply because that puppy leaves our home.

Our families inherit a little piece of our hearts when they take one of our puppies home.

We Choose Our Families, Too

Finding the right puppy is a two-way decision.

Just as you are deciding whether one of our puppies is right for your family, we are deciding whether your family is the right home for one of our puppies.

We reserve the right to decline a placement when we don't believe it is the right match. That isn't meant to make our process intimidating or exclusive. It is simply part of accepting responsibility for the lives we bring into this world.

Our puppies depend entirely upon us to make that first important decision for them.

We take it seriously.

Our Commitment Doesn't End at Go-Home

Our relationship with a puppy doesn't end when we watch a family drive away.

We hope to remain a resource for our families throughout their dog's life. We love receiving pictures, hearing stories, celebrating birthdays, and watching the tiny puppies we once held in our hands become deeply loved members of their families.

And should life ever change in a way that makes it impossible for one of our families to continue caring for their Kingpindoxies dog, we want to know.

A dog bred by us will always have a place with us.

Because to us, a dachshund will never be “just a pet.”

A dachshund can be the little shadow following you from room to room.

A child's best friend.

Someone's walking companion.

A warm body curled beside an elderly person.

The reason you laugh after a difficult day.

The little face waiting at the door when you come home.

A source of comfort when life hurts.

And, sometimes, one little dachshund can enter your life and change its direction forever.

We know.

Ours did. His name was Andy.
